Handwritten Signatures replace Passwords or PINs for Log-In

SignSecure® replaces Microsoft®'s Windows® log-on by means of user-id and password with a sign-on using a handwritten signature. Offers a convenient way of signing-in to Tablet PCs especially when in slate mode and protects the access to desktop PCs and notebooks with a biometrical gate using a writing tablet.

Illegal access to secured networks is on the rise. Most cases occur due to password theft. Biometric characteristics of signatures such as writing pressure, speed and acceleration cannot be spied out.

PINs and passwords are vulnerable to loss, memory and theft. Signatures cannot be forgotten! Estimates state forgotten passwords/PINs cost businesses approximately USD 350 per workstation per year.

A reference data set is created in SignSecure® for each signer. Throughout the enrollment process SignSecure® is assessing the reference data set quality.

At every new log-in SignSecure® verifies two aspects of the signature of a registered signer: the static image of the signature as well as the invisible biometric characteristics of the writing movement - such as speed and pressure. Parts of this analysis have been successfully used for more than a decade in financial institutions worldwide.
