SignPads combines premium technologies in hardware and software to provide for optimal capturing results. Unlike other solutions on the market, SignDoc and SignPads have been designed to work together from their inception thereby providing unparalleled quality and a hassle-free integration of two exceptional solutions – both from the leading experts in their fields and both on the market since 1983. 25 million signatures are verified every day automatically with SOFTPRO’s software. Wacom has enriched this offering with the experience of millions of circulated pen tablets, and exceptional quality assurance methods in the production process. You can easily experience the outstanding quality of the SignDoc & SignPad combination for yourself by simply signing your name.

The outstanding quality of SignPads is easy to experience. Just choose some signature captured with a SignPad for an automatic verification – e.g. using SOFTPRO’s SDK SignWare:

  • The SignPad not only captures the static image characteristic of your signature, but also the dynamic (biometric) signals, which are produced throughout the signing process (such as pressure, acceleration of pen, and other unique characteristics associated with your signature).
  • SignPad uses Wacom’s patented inductive pen technology to track the pen position, and the intensity of the writing pressure with a high degree of accuracy.
This combination allows you to capture and compare very accurate signal profiles of time and location coordinates which can be used to prove the authenticity of the signature or even verify it automatically using add-on components provided by SOFTPRO.

Softpro’s SignPad eSignio has been specifically designed to support the trustworthy capturing of the handwritten signatures without paper. The ergonomics of the device are consequently optimized for ease of use and paper-like feeling when signing. As a result, a user will be able to “just sign”.

Form follows function: Compared to other devices on the market, the SignPad attracts with an extraordinary flat design, which perfectly fits into different application environments. Individual device colors – matching a corporate design - and/or integrating logos of a company or product are an option for larger orders.

  • The surface allows a natural signing experience – like signing on paper.
  • The digital ink appears on the screen without any delay, ultra-sharp and faster, more accurate plus with a better contrast when compared to other devices on the market. The brilliant, ultra-sharp display is one of the reasons why users judge SignPads as highly trustworthy also when signing for the first time on the device.
  • The wide end-to-end sensors of SignPads are offering enough space to cater for long names (such as compound names)
  • Their life expectancy is remarkably longer than those of many other devices in the market - documented with a three years gurantee. One of the reasons why companies which capture a very high amount of signatures - like IKEA and their partner TeleCash/FirstData - have chosen SignPads.
  • SignPads leverage a technology which allows to built these pads extremly robust as the sensor is not on the display surface. Alternative technologies only allow limited possibilities to harden the display surface. Over time displays of pads using this technology tend to show traces of wear and tear. The more signatures were taken on these pads, the more likely the display looks dull and milky. It becomes unaesthetic. If such a display is inadvertently signed with a normal ball point pen it is very likely that the sensor must be replaced.
  • Signatures are always displayed clearly visible. Alternative technologies require to built the sensor on top of the display which results in a lack of brightness.
  • There is no better technology to capture signatures "clean" and in high quality. Due to its electromagnetic digitizer, the signer’s hand can comfortably rest on the tablet surface without affecting the signature quality thus significantly improving the ergonomics of the signing process compared to other solutions.
    • Pen Pads leveraging touch technology have sensors on top of the display. They may capture irritating signals throught the signing process. This may happen if the thumb ball, fingers or rings touch the display surface throughout the signing process. As a workaround some manufacturers of these kind of devices try to filter the unwanted data using software however the results of filtered data is sometimes disappointing.
    • As far as we know SignPads offer the most sophisticated capturing of signature data on the market. They offer a very reliable, calibrated and evenly spread capturing of pressure levels without interpolation. The quality of captured signature data is easily recognized when signatures run through an automatic verification process for example using SOFTPROs SDK SignWare.
    • SignPads offer a resolution accuracy of less than 0,1 mm.
  • The pen may be stored either upright, or flat: variable storage for left and right hand writing. A light, flexible cord to fix the pen to the pad is part of the SignPad package.

  •

Forensic experts agree that for a signature to be uncontestable, it must fulfill certain capture criteria. In order to fulfill these criteria, the SignPads are able to reliably protocol signals captured during the signing process thus allowing experts to analyze the authenticity of a signature just as they would have been able to do with a "wet ink" signature on paper. Special care has been taken during the design of the SignPads to ensure that the tolerances in the production process meet the high standards of forensic experts.

In fact, SignPads accurately records similar pressure intensities regardless of the capturing surface area. This is one of the most important requirements for forensic analysis of digitized signatures as discussed for example in 2007 at the 7th congress of the Society for the Forensic Examination of Handwriting (Gesellschaft für Forensische Schriftuntersuchung, GFS). SignPad eSignio provides outstanding trustworthy, calibrated, and evenly distributed capturing of differentiable pressure levels without any artificial interpolation.
