SignDoc supports

• primarily the file type "Portable Document Format" (PDF) - by far the most popular electronic document format.
  • Intelligent PDF forms are increasingly introduced in document workflows since they offer much more automation options than other formats.
  • PDF is widely regarded as the best format for archiving since it widely standardized* and seen as revision-safe, since it secures that documents can be opened and read for many years.
    * PDF was officially released as an open standard in 2008 (ISO 32000-1:2008)
• also archive-concepts still based on legacy image formats such as "Tagged Image File Format" (TIFF)

As an additional format SignDoc supports Microsoft^® Word^®

Hint: We highly suggest that you consider choosing the SignDoc Standard Client which allows you to convert Microsoft Word files to PDF or TIFF with the embedded "SOFTPRO PDF & TIFF Converter". Especially PDF files are considered the better choice for archiving and exchange purposes without any hassle of file formats. Especially files in the format of Microsoft Word 2007 (.docx) can be a hurdle in exchange with others as the format is still not as common as Microsoft wants it to be.

New since version 3.1: Sign every file type with SignDoc   Just choose the file required in the usual corresponding application. Choose the "Softpro PDF & TIFF Converter" via your printer menu. The file will be converted into PDF or TIFF according to your selection, stored at a location of your choice and instantly displayed in SignDoc. Now you can sign the file electronically as many times as your workflow requires a signature. SignDoc offers this conversion as a standard feature at no extra costs.
