SignDoc^® is a solution for signing and sealing electronic documents in a tamperproof, and legally-binding manner using the biometric characteristics of a person's signature.

After defining a signing area within an electronic document using SignDoc^®, an authorizing person may sign the document in exactly the same manner that they would sign a piece of paper.
This kind of electronic signature - also known as a "dynamic signature" or a "biometric signature" - is captured using one of many supported signature capture devices such as a pen pad, a writing tablet or a Tablet PC.
The authenticity of the signature can be verified at any point in time either manually, or using SOFTPRO's unique automatic combo-verification to provide a high level of trustworthiness.
The integrity of the signature and the document is secured using state-of-the art technologies for encryption and and integrity protection.

◊ Better than Ink

A dynamic signature captured and embedded with SignDoc^® looks identical in all respects to a person’s original wet ink signature. However, it is much more than just an electronic image. The signature contains biometric information about how the signature was signed such as speed, patterns, habits, and pressure of pen strokes. These characteristics represent a biometric footprint which is unique to every individual and can not be reproduced by a forger.

Unlike other biometric technologies such as fingerprints, facial scan, or iris scan, a dynamic signature is more accessible and accepted because it is non-intrusive and does not convey a sense of criminality.

For this reason, people are less hesitant to use dynamic signatures for completing business transactions than other biometric technologies since signing has already been an accepted form of authentication and authorization for hundreds of years.

In addition to advantages such as the cultural acceptance of signatures, dynamic signatures also offer some of the best biometrics with respect to uniqueness and repeatability thus sealing your transactions in a secure manner and removing any question as to the identity of the signer.

SignDoc is based on the SignWare^® Software Development Kit which includes SOFTPRO's unique signature combo-verification. It compares both the static image characteristics and dynamic signals to a known reference signature. The verification automatically takes into account the natural variations in the signer's signature characteristics so that the capture and verification is effective in any situation. If the character set is not within a certain tolerance level, the signature has highly likely been forged.

In the absence of dynamic signature parameters, static features may be used for comparison. Static technology has been successfully user for more than a decade in financial institutions worldwide.

This allows smooth transition from the paper to the electronic world.

Signalyze is an optional add-on to Softpro's Software Development Kit SignWare^®. This video is an educational "hands-on" eduction on the sophisticated toolbox which visualizes the various aspects of dynamic (biometric) signature characteristics. It explains some of the security features provided in SignWare and SignDoc. SignAlyze is not targeting the newbie but rather the expert working for fraud departments, in forensic analysis and everyone interested into the "science of signing".

◊ Seamless Integration in e-Workflow

The SignDoc^® Document Server enables seamless embedding the preparation and presentation of document templates plus the storage and post-signed processing of signed documents into your workflow.

The electronic forms are populated through the SignDoc^® Document Server, submitted for completion and signing to the front office. The signed documents are passed back to the back office and archived, the signatures are extracted for future usage for example in the check processing. The advantages are obvious:

Paper is eliminated completely, the automatic archiving of signed documents eliminates costs for scanning and archiving.
Accounts can be set-up easily and directly, contracts can be negotiated, reviewed and signed in one continuous process.
Documents can be easily retrieved from the document archive for ongoing processing, for example acquiring additional contents and signatures.
The signature extracted automatically in the back-office constitute a high-level database of reference signatures that can not only be used in the check processing but also for online / portal authentication.

Since the full-electronic scenario provides high-quality signatures which not only incorporate the static image of the signature but also the dynamic/ biometric parameters of the signing process, the combined static/ dynamic verification utilized in online applications built with SOFTPRO technology delivers results with an outstanding credibility.
