SignBase^®, the basic module of SignPlus^®, is the ideal starting-point for automatic signature verification. SignBase displays signatures and signing rules at every workstation within seconds while offering convenient administration. Forget old signature cards or inflexible data bases. The use of signature verification as an automatic process in the background removes the burden from branch offices. SignBase workflow increases efficiency and reduces risk of fraud.

SignBase offers an unparalleled overview - independent of pre-formatted forms. Concern of authorized signers with certain signing rights is eliminated. The signing rules of authorized signers are displayed clearly even if rules are very complex.

Some reference signatures may have been initially captured many years ago or captured in poor quality. Consequently, there is a need to update reference databases.

SignBase has the ability to add so-called "variants" to reference signatures. The use of "variants" enables SignBase to account for the natural variation within an individual's signature. Furthermore, users benefit from current technology including high-resolution scanning and high-capacity storage.

Capturing variants requires minimal effort: data may be merely taken from regular checks or giro forms.

Scanned signatures may include disruptive background information.

• With the use of an optional automated cleaning module, printed lines, boxes, stamps or images in the background are removed. This ensures the storage of a clean signature image and improves the accuracy of the verification process. This sophisticated algorithm has been successfully proven world wide.
• Another option is to clean grey images - independent of pre-defined forms.

Data of accounts, signing rules and signatures may be imported from existing document archives or other applications (e.g. via XML) by using optional modules. This import mechanism supports all objects of the SignBase data model.

SignBase is used in hundreds of financial institutes worldwide including American Express, Barclays, Citigroup, Discover Financial, JPMorgan Chase, HypoVereinsbank, Lloyds TSB and SEB and regional or national institutes.
