[STUTTGART] - April 4, 2005: As part of her trip to Europe Governor Ruth Ann Minner of the US State of Delaware met the Top Executives of Softpro Group in Stuttgart. Governor Minner sees Softpro's success story as a perfect proof that Delaware offers an ideal business location for innovative European companies. Softpro founded its US-subsidiary in 1999 and grew its business there from two to 20 people. The US market is regarded as the most promising one for the future expansion of Softpro. Within the last years Jeff Bottari, President of Softpro North America, managed to add several major US banks to Softpro's impressive customer list.
Governor Minner started her day in Stuttgart inviting Softpro's top executive for a Business Breakfast. Softpro is regarded as one of the gems of the IT companies in the German "Silicon Valley" in Boeblingen - a few kilometers south of Stuttgart. The highly specialized company is the leading provider of signature verification and check fraud solutions, world-wide. Softpro develops software for the capture and verification of handwritten signatures and transforms this technology into solutions for security, authentication and paper elimination in documents and processes across a wide range of industries. Softpro currently employs 60 people to serve over 250 customers in banking, insurance and healthcare from its offices in Germany, USA, United Kingdom and Singapore.
John Ashworth, Chairman of Softpro Group confirmed the willingness to expand its operation in the US. Frank Fuchs, Managing Director of Softpro Group, stated that success in the US also offers the opportunity to create new highly qualified jobs in the Boeblingen based company as well and proves the win-win potential of the transatlantic partnership.
Delaware's Governor Minner also met the Minister of Economics of Baden-Wurttemberg, Ernst Pfister. They discussed the options to assist high tech companies in each others markets more effectively. The US is one of the most important trade and technology partners especially for the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg. Governor Minner later visited DaimlerChrysler to discuss future projects at the Newark plant with officials.
